A TOTAL of 20 religious institutions in Pulau Tikus have come together to form the Pulau Tikus Harmony Network, a new platform aimed at promoting friendship and mutual understanding among different faith communities.
The initiative, launched today, was spearheaded by Pulau Tikus assemblyman Joshua Woo Sze Zeng, who said the network brings together representatives from Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, and the Baháʼí Faith.
Woo said the effort seeks to strengthen interfaith relations and build trust across traditions.
“Through this network, we aim to create opportunities for dialogue and friendship among our diverse faith communities.
“This is about building bridges, celebrating diversity, and nurturing unity within our shared community,” he said.
Woo said that following the launch, the network would work with representatives from each faith to organise inter-religious programmes such as cultural performances, artistic exhibitions and forums to encourage the public to learn about various religions and practices.

Woo added the initiative was part of ongoing efforts to reinforce social cohesion, which he described as “the foundation of nation building.”
“We cannot choose the country, skin colour, or religious family we are born into,” he said, hoping everyone can live in a harmonious environment.
