Pulau Tikus rep sets up festive mood

THE Chinese New Year festival is just around the corner, and to create the mood for the festivity, Pulau Tikus assemblyman Chris Lee distributed mandarin oranges to market-goers and traders at the Pulau Tikus market today.

The festival falls on Feb 1 this year.

According to Lee, the CNY decorations have been set up at various places in the Pulau Tikus neighbourhood to enliven the atmosphere as major crowd gathering celebrations are still not allowed this year.

“This year, we will not be having any celebration for the festival, so we just wanted to bring that CNY vibe to the Pulau Tikus neighbourhood by having these decorations.

“However, this time the situation is so much better than last year as we are able to go around and distribute oranges while meeting and greeting our residents.

“I am hoping that everything will return to a state of normalcy soon.

“With that, I wish everyone a prosperous and a healthy CNY,” Lee told the Buletin Mutiara team today during the walkabout at the Pulau Tikus market.
