NEARLY 100 participants took part in the Quality Control Operation Crew Course 2025, held at the Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple Hall in Seberang Jaya today.
The half-day course was organised by the Human Resources Ministry (Kesuma) through the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), with strong support from the Penang government.
Penang Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu, who officiated the closing ceremony, said the initiative was commendable in helping participants build critical industry-relevant skills.

“This is a short course, but it is truly meaningful.

“It is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to enhance quality control in operations, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry standards,” he said.
Sundarajoo also applauded the initiative by Kesuma and HRD Corp, adding that such programmes are in line with the state’s goal of building a more skilled and competitive workforce.
As the elected representative for Perai, Sundarajoo shared that one of his key focuses is empowering the underprivileged to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
“I have been conducting various programmes such as sewing and cooking classes, and even providing equipment to help individuals from low-income backgrounds start small businesses.
“These efforts are aimed at helping them become independent and able to support their families,” he said.
