LIGHTHOUSE has been serving the poor and homeless for more than 11 years.
The Lighthouse Feeding Center commenced operations on March 19, 2003, where the homeless and hungry can come to have a meal while availing themselves to counselling and basic medical care.
They are also provided with bathroom, toilet and washing facilities and given a place to rest while waiting for their meals.
The Lighthouse currently feeds an average of 120 people (refered to as “clients”) every feeding day.
There are a total of 30-40 volunteers on rotation, sharing their love and care with the less fortunate of our society.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng paid a visit to the Lighthouse on July 7 and met the clients having their dinner.
Touched by the situation, Lim was overwhelmed and moved to tears.
“I am moved by the noble act of these volunteers who help those who have no capacity to feed themselves. As you can see, Lighthouse helps all members of society regardless of race or religion,” Lim told members of the press after distributing meals to the clients.
He also contributed RM20,000 to the Lighthouse to help them run the soup kitchen.

The Lighthouse office is situated at 52B Penang Road (next to Cititel Hotel).
