THE Penang government will coordinate assistance for the family of the late K. Indiran, who died recently while attending a course at the 10th Mile Army Camp in Kuantan, Pahang, says state Social Development, Non-Islamic Religious and Welfare Committee chairman Lim Siew Khim.
Lim conveyed her condolences and support to Indiran’s mother, S. Usha, during a visit to her home in Sungai Nibong.
Usha’s husband C. Kayamboo had died about 10 years ago while serving as a pilot in the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).
“To us, both the late Indiran and his father are heroes who served the country. Unfortunately, the family has now suffered two devastating losses,” she told Buletin Mutiara.
Lim said the state government would work with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) to coordinate assistance for the Indiran family.
“We will align whatever forms of aid that can be provided to the Indiran family, including welfare support,” she said.

“She shared that she is still traumatised, having lost her husband 10 years ago and now her son as well,” Lim said.
Lim said counselling support may be required and arrangements would be coordinated through JKM.
.
Despite the tragedy, Lim noted that Indiran’s mother remains proud of her four children.
“She told us she is very proud of her children, who are disciplined and well brought up,” she added.
During the visit, Lim and JKM representative also handed over financial assistance and provided emotional support to Usha during the visit.
“Today we came to provide some financial assistance and moral support, and we hope she will continue to stay strong and carry on with her life,” she said.
