PENANGITES must strive to keep Penang as a ‘green zone’ state, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said.

He said the community has been united against the deadly virus.

“It is crucial that we remain together in our battle against the Covid-19 to break the chain of infection.

“We must not waste our efforts during the movement control order (MCO) period. Continue to practise the safety measures and guidelines,” he said at the ‘Bantuan Cakna Rakyat’ aid presentation programme in Simpang Empat, Balik Pulau today.

Chow gave away groceries to 20 needy recipients from the Simpang Empat Village Community Management Council (MPKK) area.

“We will continue to do our best to help those in need,” he said.

The recipients practise social distancing and wear the face masks during the aid presentation programme.

Also present were Pulau Betong assemblyman Mohd Tuah Ismail, special coordinator to the Chief Minister in Balik Pulau Gooi Seong Kin, Penang Island City Council (MBPP) councillor Tan Chiew Choon and Simpang Empat MPKK commitee members.
