THE Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) Malaysia Business Council (GMBC) is set to host the GOPIO Entrepreneur Forum & Networking Dinner 2025 this month in Kuala Lumpur.
The event will be held on May 30, from 4pm to 10pm, at the Grand Ballroom, Royal Selangor Club, Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur.
It will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and diplomats for an evening of networking, idea sharing, and the exploration of new business opportunities
This was revealed during a special meeting held at the Indian Association of Penang (Penang IA) in Bagan Jermal on May 16.
State Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu thanked GOPIO and Penang IA for working together on this initiative to empower Indian entrepreneurs in the state.
“The state government will continue to support initiatives such as this and hopes that Indian entrepreneurs in Penang will seize opportunities like the GOPIO event to continue to progress in life,” Sundarajoo said during his speech at the gathering.

It is learned that the GOPIO Entrepreneur Forum & Networking Dinner 2025 is a lead-up to the GOPIO International Business Council (GIBC) Summit 2025 in Puduchery India.
GOPIO Malaysia president and GMBC chairman S.Gunasekaren urged local entrepreneurs investors, corporate professionals, trade delegates and chambers of commerce to participate in the GOPIO Entrepreneur Forum & Networking Dinner 2025.
“Join over 200 entrepreneurs, innovators, and business leaders from Malaysia, Singapore, and across ASEAN for an exciting evening of expert talks, startup showcases, and networking.
“The key topics at the event will include ‘Local Business Going Global, ‘From SME to IPO’, ASEAN Economic Outlook 2025, and ‘The Future of Technology in Entrepreneurship’,” he added.

Meanwhile, GSH Precision Technology director (corporate & business department) J. Philip Vincent highlighted the growing demand for highly skilled workers in Penang.
“According to Philip, graduates and job seekers need to upskill themselves to remain relevant in the job market.In Penang, we need high-end workers, especially in the AI and engineering sectors.

“The digital economy is growing fast and creating new jobs for skilled people,” Philip said during his presentation at the meetup.
Penang IA president Dr N Kalaikumar called for more people to join the association, enabling it to continue its efforts in collaborating with relevant organisations to bring more empowerment programmes to the Indian community.
