THE Youth With Rhythm: Rentak Belia Talent Show 2025, organised by the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), is set to provide a dynamic platform for young talents to showcase their creativity and confidence.
The initiative, introduced as a continuation of the Merdeka Talent Show launched in 2021, celebrates not only performance skills but also courage, discipline, and cultural diversity among Penang’s youth.
State Youth, Sports, and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen said the programme reflects the state’s commitment to nurturing the next generation through arts and culture.
“This talent show is not just about entertainment but it is about giving our young people the opportunity to shine, to build their confidence, and to discover their potential,” he said during a press conference in Komtar earlier this morning.
Gooi added that the initiative also aligns with the Rakan Muda programme under the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, particularly through Rakan Ekspresi and Rakan Muzik.
“We want to see our youth step forward, whether in music, dance, or other creative expressions. This is their stage, and we are here to support them,” he said.
The audition round, held on Oct 11 in conjunction with the Penang2030 Festival, drew 31 individuals and groups involving 46 youths. Finalists were selected in two categories—Secondary School and Open.
Secondary school finalists: Shahirah (SMK Seri Nibong), Wen Ze (SMJK Jit Sin), Tharani Ramesh Raj (SMK Convent Green Lane), Aisyah Cyntia (SMK Bukit Mertajam), and Chow Jin Wei (Chung Ling Private High School).
Open Category finalists: Haizam Azman, The Wamzz, Danial Rameli, Aishah Aliff, and Kumpulan Kesenian Adikarma.
The grand finale and awards ceremony will take place on Nov 22, 2025, at the Atrium, Level 1, Gurney Paragon Mall, from 2pm to 6pm. Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend and support the participants.
Attractive prizes await winners, with the champion in each category receiving RM3,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate.
Gooi expressed appreciation to PYDC and its strategic partners, the Penang State Department of Youth and Sports (JBSNPP), Gurney Paragon Mall, and The One Academy Penang, for their continuous support in empowering youth.
“Our youth are the heartbeat of Penang’s future. By investing in their growth today, we are ensuring a stronger, more dynamic society tomorrow,” he said.
