ANOTHER exciting tourism product will be introduced for Penangites and foreign visitors this year.

Called the iN Penang Tourist Pass, the product will be introduced by CHT Network to provide discounts at various tourist spots, hotels, restaurants and eateries.

Tourism Development and Culture Committee chairman Danny Law Heng Kiang said tourism players like shopping malls, restaurants, cafes and even spas, are invited to join the initiative.

“I want to thank CHT Network for initiating this programme to help draw more tourists to Penang. They can enjoy discounted rates and see new attractions in the state,” Law told a press conference on April 4.

“In Japan, Australia and Europe, they also have passes for tourists to enjoy more benefits and discounts.”

Also present were CHT Network president Ch’ng Huck Theng, MarketSource director Fifi Ch’ng, The Top general manager Bryan Tan, Entopia chief executive officer Joseph Goh, The Habitat Penang Hill managing director Allen Tan, Tropical Spice Garden assistant marketing manager Paul Lim and Hunza Properties marketing communications assistant manager Loo Ai Leen.

Huck Theng said their aim is to promote and connect advertisers from various industries including shopping centres, tourist attractions, restaurants, cafes, hotels, massage outlets and spas, car rental firms, medical sector and potential consumers with discount vouchers and great savings.

He added the voucher booklet, costing RM49 each, will be on sale at selected tourist destinations, bookshops, cafes, petrol stations, convenience stores and online.

“We target 5,000 copies for sale in November if not earlier and proceeds of the sales will be donated to charity as our CSR (corporate social responsibility) after deducting sales commission and cost,” Huck Theng said.
