BUBBLE tea fans can enjoy their favourite drink to their heart’s content during the first-ever Boba Festival in Penang from Oct 4 to 6.
There are over 20 participating outlets, including food trucks, that will be taking part in the festival.
Fans can enjoy the different types of drink from various outlets at just one location, Gurney Plaza.
Among the famous brands that will be taking part in the festival are Xing Fu Tang (Juru Sentral), Gao Enough Tea, Venzytea, Meme Xpress and Royaltea.
Visitors can also look forward to a wide selection of boba-inspired food and desserts by cafes like Plan C, Have A Seat Cafe and Frosley Galaxyto.
Penang Tourism Development, Arts Culture and Heritage Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said the inaugural event was to be held in conjunction with the Penang Coffee Festival 2019.
“The Boba Festival serves as a significant platform for bubble milk tea outlets, cafes and restaurants in Penang to unleash their creativity in coming up with new boba recipes,” he told a press conference in Gurney Plaza today.
Yeoh hoped that the visitors would have a wonderful time with their family, friends and loved ones at the festival.
TLM Event executive director Aleex Quah said that there would be some games and activities such as Pearl Relay Challenge and Bubble Milk Tea Drinking Challenge for all ages.
“Visitors may also try to craft their own bubble milk tea at the workshop, alongside the bubble milk tea experts,” Quah said.
Live performances and a cooking demonstration are also set to entertain the visitors.
The festival will be held from 5pm to 10pm.
