In a separate matter, Lim urged the Federal Government to increase the allocation for non-Islamic religious affairs to at least 10% of the total allocation for Islamic affairs.
He pointed out that the Malaysian Budget allocation for Islamic affairs was RM1.5 billion in 2024, increased to RM2 billion in the 2025 Budget, and has been set at RM2.6 billion in the 2026 Budget. Meanwhile, the allocation for non-Islamic religious affairs has remained unchanged at RM50 million for all three years.
