Bagan Dalam Penang2030 centre launched

ANOTHER Penang2030 centre has been launched, making it the 22nd centre available in Penang!

The latest Penang2030 centre is located in Taman Jawa, Bagan Dalam.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the Penang2030 centre was instrumental in bringing the Penang2030 concept to the grassroots level.

“The Penang2030 centre is an initiative by the state government to allow the community to better understand the Penang2030 vision which was launched in 2018.

“Many can make a policy or create a concept, but to bring the concept to the grassroots level and to let the people understand the state’s direction concerning development may be challenging.

“The Penang2030 centre is aimed at encouraging the participation of the local communities, and working together to achieve the Penang2030 vision,” Chow said after launching the centre this evening.

Chow added that the Penang2030 centre in Bagan Dalam would be organising programmes such as coding classes and robotic classes soon.

“I understand that Tech Dome Penang had been invited to conduct a small workshop for the children in the neighbourhood.

“The Penang2030 centres are free to decide the types of programmes or activities to be held at their centres,” he said.

Chow said the state allocated RM2,000 monthly for each Penang2030 centre to sustain its operations.

“We hope to set up a Penang2030 centre at each of the 40 state constituencies,” he added.

Also present was Bagan Dalam assemblyman M. Satees.
