MOTHER’S Day was indeed a special one as Bukit Mertajam Member of Parliament (MP) Steven Sim celebrated it with mothers who had given birth recently at the Bukit Mertajam Hospital.
To mark the Mother’s Day on May 12, Sim distributed ‘Beg Mama’ to some 30 mothers.
“This is a small way to appreciate their sacrifices. Mothers deserve to be loved and respected.
“Mother’s Day is such a joyous occasion and it should be treasured,” Sim told reporters during the ‘Beg Mama’ distribution event at Bukit Mertajam Hospital on May 12.
The recipients were caught by surprise as they wore wide smiles on their faces.
The ‘Beg Mama’ included five pieces of napkins, a piece of baby bib, a pair of baby mitten and booties, a piece of sarong, three handkerchieves, one set of breast-feeding pad, a set of nail clipper, a bottle of baby shower and a packet of wet tissue.
Some mothers said this was their best Mother’s Day gift ever.
