Building resistance to influenza

TO create awareness about the prevention of influenza viruses, the Air Itam and Air Putih service centres have taken the initiative to give free vaccines to the residents in both constituencies.

Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng said the programme has received an overwhelming response, with about 600 registered individuals.

“Those who have registered can receive their free vaccines at the O2 Clinic in Air Itam by simply walking in and presenting their vouchers.

“We hope this campaign will benefit our people and help build resistance to influenza. The programme which started last week, will be held until Oct 31,” Ng said during a press conference at the O2 Clinic in Air Itam this morning.

Ng added that the influenza vaccines cost around RM80 per injection.

Also present was the doctor in charge, Dr Koay Chun Hang.
