Meanwhile, Chow affirmed the importance of rescue teams such as the CDERT during an emergency.

“We hope that the newly-opened CDERT office (in Semarak Api) would provide its best services for the community.

“With time, CDERT would definitely be seen as an important agency to assist the community in various situations, especially during an emergency.

“I believe that people will slowly give recognition to CDERT in due time as well as see them as a reliable emergency response team in times of trouble,” said Chow.

Chow also added that the CDERT would need to increase its visibility in order to establish its existence among the community.

“Perhaps, CDERT could project themselves as an agency that is omnipresent, moving in the midst of community at various places. In this way, more people would come to know about CDERT to seek its assistance,” said Chow.

State Tourism and Creative Economy Commitee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin, who was also presented, applauded the CDERT MPKK Semarak Api, which is located in his Paya Terubong constituency, for being actively involved in community work.
