Charity food fair raises funds for handicap centre

AKidz Academy in Taman Lip Sin, Sungai Dua, held a charity food fair in aid of the Eden Handicap Service Centre in George Town.

The charity food fair, which was held at its premises at No 3 and 5 at Lintang Nipah from 9.30am to 1pm on Dec 1, attracted hundreds of young and old people, as well as well wishers.

At the function, AKidz Academy principal Lee Sei Lin presented a cheque for RM10,000 to Eden Handicap Service Centre Bhd administrator/co-founder Madelene Tan.

Visitors to the charity food fair were also treated to dance performances by students of the academy.

In her speech, Lee said this was the first corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative carried out by her academy.

“We hope to be able to help the less fortunate people in the community, which is a way of giving  back to society in line with our company motto of ‘Touching Hearts, Moulding Lives’,” she said.

She added that the academy hoped to educate its young students to grow up as responsible and caring adults.

“They should always be ready to lend a helping hand to the less fortunate in society,” she said.
