A TOTAL of 492 Seberang Perai Municipal Council (MPSP) staff members were on duty on the first day of the joyous Hari Raya celebration.
MPSP president Datuk Rozali Mohamud went on the ground visiting the council employees who had to prioritise work instead of celebrating the festival with their loved ones.
His presence brought cheer to all those who were working at the MPSP Tower, MPSP Jalan Betek branch, control post at the Free Industrial Zone in Perai, Perai B pump house and the municipal depot in Inderawasih.
Rozali’s thoughtful gesture made everyone brim with joy, and he also made them happier by distributing goodie bags to each of them.
This was the third year that Rozali has been keeping the tradition of visiting the MPSP staff working on the Hari Raya day.
Clad in ‘Baju Melayu’, he was seen chatting with the MPSP staff. He also took some memorable photographs with them.
According to Rozali, every year there would be an increase of 5% in the waste generated during the festive season.
“So, I urge everyone to implement the waste segregation programme and help to reduce the use of single-use plastic,” he added.
