A BLOOD donation drive organised by the World Mission Society Church of God (Church of God) achieved a meaningful milestone, collecting a total of 38,250ml of blood.

Held at the 1st Avenue Mall in George Town on May 3, the initiative brought together 120 participants, all united by a shared commitment to saving lives through donation.

In a statement, the church reaffirmed its dedication to organising regular blood drives, noting that such efforts play a vital role in alleviating blood shortages while also raising public awareness about the importance of donating blood.

The transfusion medicine department at Penang General Hospital expressed its appreciation to all volunteers, commending their generosity and support for the life-saving programme.

The statement added that the blood donation campaign is part of the Church of God’s long-running social contribution efforts, which began in South Korea in 2005 and have continued for over two decades.

“It aims to save the lives of neighbours in times of crisis, reflecting the love of Christ who granted humanity eternal life.

“The blood drive is actively conducted in countries worldwide, including the United States, the Republic of Korea, India, Spain, South Africa, Brazil, as well as Malaysia,” the statement read.
