THE Penang Women’s Development Corporation (PWDC) has joined hands with Elizabeth Image Branding to organise the ‘Women Impact Makers Conference 2022’ in July.

The conference, which is a hybrid event, will be held from July 12 to 22.

State executive councillor for Non-Islamic Religious Affairs and Social Development Chong Eng said the conference aimed at celebrating the aspirations and achievements of women locally and globally.

“The goal is to gather women nationwide and internationally to connect and network, as well as upskill delegates through various workshops and programmes.

“It is also to provide a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their products or services via the virtual mall and social media platform.

“We have also invited women (Penangites) from all over the world to share their progress and business updates, and to help build the younger generations,” Chong Eng said during a press conference today at the Penang Harmony Centre.

Chong Eng added that the event hoped to bring transformation in the lives of women.

Meanwhile, PWDC chief executive officer Ong Bee Leng lauded Chong Eng for contributing RM80,000 to the ‘Women Impact Makers Conference 2022’.

“This shows the commitment of the state government towards the women’s agenda.

“Women are still lacking behind in two main areas, which are, the economic sector and in political representation.

“This conference will be instrumental in helping women to improve themselves and to achieve greater things,” she added.

Elizabeth Image Branding chief executive officer Elizabeth Hor said the theme of the conference is ‘Empowering Women To Do Greater Things’.

“I would like to thank our local and international speakers and panellists for agreeing to be part of the programme the moment I approached them.

“This conference does not have any age restriction and no qualifications are required. We want to include women from all walks of life.

“We have also invited four special speakers for our segment on ‘Husbands Beside Successful Women’. This is an opportunity to hear from men too,” said Hor.

She also said that her organising team was also working with two off-site projects involving young girls from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and homes.

“One is the vocal coaching by Juwita Suwito, which is the preparation for the choir presentation for the opening ceremony of the conference.

“Another project is the ‘Passion Income’, a financial literacy workshop by Brenda Yong. The girls will be showcasing their entrepreneurship skills during the conference,” Hor added.
