THE durian season is around the corner and tourists should not miss the chance to visit Penang to satisfy their durian cravings.
Penang Health, Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry and Rural Development Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin said the durian season in Penang would last for about two months.
“Travel companies have various durian tour packages to attract tourists to Penang during this period.
“There are durian suppliers who export durians to countries such as China. It requires various process such as deep freezing, to preserve the fruit.
“We invite the tourists to come and enjoy fresh durian from orchards or from the suppliers in the state,” Dr Afif told a press conference in Dewan Sri Pinang today.
Visitors at Dewan Sri Pinang had a sweet surprise this afternoon after they were given a free durian treat during the Penang Durian Festival 2019 pre-launching event.
The state elected representatives, government officers, civil servants and media practitioners enjoyed their favourite fruit to the fullest.
