Express your thoughts through PYDC’s writing competition, youths told

IF you are a young person, would you like to voice out your opinion on one of the most debated topics currently, which is the lowering of age for candidacy from 21 years old to 18 years?

Then, the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC)’s sixth column writing competition titled ‘Umur 18 Jadi Calon – Your Voice Matters’ would be a great channel for you to share your thoughts.

State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee, who is also the PYDC chairman, said the competition is part of state government’s initiative to enhance youth’s creativity in writing as well as to encourage their social participation.

“The state government, through the PYDC, would like to empower the youths in Penang by giving them a proper channel to speak their minds on things pertaining to civic awareness and social development.

“We hope that the topic chosen for the competition would create an awareness among our youths on what is happening in the country as well as within the society.

“Thus, youths in Penang should fully utilise the opportunities brought forth by PYDC and share their thoughts for the betterment of the country,” said Soon in a press conference today.
