PUPILS and teachers of SK Juru can now hold programmes more comfortably with the completion of an upgraded stage at the school.
The RM19,960 upgrading cost was borne by Bukit Tengah assemblyman Gooi Hsiao Leung.
He said that the school had sought some funds from his office to upgrade the stage.
Gooi said the upgrading works had started in December last year and it was fully upgraded in January.
“I was invited to the opening ceremony on March 12. I hope that the stage can provide a more comfortable space for the students and teachers to hold programmes,” he said.
Gooi said that the Penang government continued to provide aid to the schools although education was not fully under the jurisdiction of the state government.
“We want to continue to empower human capital development,” he said.
Gooi also congratulated the school for organising the programme to encourage pupils to read. The programme was held on March 12.
