Fahmi Fadzil receives Penang’s DPPN, earns Dato’ Seri title

FEDERAL Communications Minister Dato’ Fahmi Fadzil has officially been conferred the Darjah Panglima Pangkuan Negeri (DPPN), which carries the title Dato’ Seri.

 

Fahmi, who also serves as the Federal Government spokesperson, received the prestigious state honour during the investiture ceremony held in conjunction with the 85th birthday celebration of the Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Ramli Ngah Talib at Dewan Sri Pinang today.

 

He was the sole recipient of the DPPN award this year, underscoring the distinction of the honour.

 

Following the ceremony, Fahmi expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri and the Penang state government for the recognition.

 

In a brief statement posted on his official Facebook page, he also conveyed his birthday wishes to Tun Ramli.

 

“My heartiest congratulations on the official birthday celebration of the Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Ramli Ngah Talib.

 

“May Tun Ramli and his family always be blessed with Allah SWT’s protection and mercy, and be granted continued good health, well-being and happiness,” he said.

 

Earlier, Tun Ramli and his consort, Yang Mulia Toh Puan Raja Datuk Seri Utama Noora Ashikin Raja Abdullah, arrived at Dewan Sri Pinang at 8.45am to officiate the investiture ceremony.

 

The four-day ceremony, taking place today as well as on July 13, 14 and 15, will see a total of 1,221 individuals receive state honours, awards and medals. This comprises 101 recipients of state honours and 1,120 recipients of state awards and medals.
