Free legal aid service for Tanjung Bungah folk

RESIDENTS of Tanjung Bungah and its neighbourhood can soon enjoy free legal aid service.

Tanjung Bungah assemblyman Zairil Khir Johari said the service would be available at his office in Jalan Desiran, on the first Wednesday of the month from 7pm to 9pm, beginning March 6.

“The service will be moderated  by lawyer Poon Lee Fah, who is also the Tanjung Bungah Women and Family Development (JPWK) chairperson.

“We hope the public will enjoy the free service to the fullest,” Zairil, who is also the state Works, Utilities and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman, told a press conference today.

Poon said she was happy to be part of the programme.

On a separate matter, Zairil said he would be liaising with the Public Works Department (JKR) to obtain approval and funding to upgrade Jalan Tanjong Tokong and Jalan Tanjung Bungah, as the condition of the roads were not good.

“We want to upgrade the infrastructure of these roads, including the sidewalks,” he added.
