MAJOR stakeholders and industry players took the opportunity to network and expand their business at the gala dinner, held in celebration of the 24th Anniversary of the Penang Goldsmiths and Jewellers Association (PGJA).

The gala dinner was part of the ongoing Penang Signature Gold and Jewellery Fair 2022 (PSG), held at Setia SPICE Convention Centre.

PSG was jointly organised by PGJA and Elite Expo Sdn Bhd.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the gala dinner offered a timely opportunity for local and international exhibitors, buyers, industry players and stakeholders to network and expand their business opportunities.

“I hope everyone can gain the right contacts for their business expansion and attract more delegates to the show next year.

“Penang is a place for leisure and business events. The state is a well-positioned trading hub in terms of geographical location and existing ecosystem.

“It is also a state that is full of opportunities and potentials.

“I am pleased to see that Penang does not limit her uniqueness and attractiveness as a mere tourist spot but also as a preferred location for international business events and a vital international gold and jewellery trading hub in Malaysia,” he said.

Organising chairman Ivan Chee welcomed stakeholders and interstate traders to the prestigious gala dinner and PSG.

“This year also marks our first collaboration with Elite Expo Sdn Bhd.

“We hope that our guests can obtain great business opportunities through our platform,” Chee, who was also the PGJA deputy chairman, said.

PGJA chairman George Lo advised its members to ride the digital wave and to keep up with technology to improve business processes.

“We look forward to a fruitful year,” he said in his speech.

Elite Expo Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Johnson Lim thanked the guests and hoped that they enjoyed the show and dinner.

The guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner, a cultural dance show, a luxury jewellery fashion show, and a live band performance.
