TECH Dome Penang today officially launched Glo-Walk 11.0, the science centre’s annual fundraising and community sports event, which will take place at The Light Waterfront Penang on Aug 8.
During the launch, Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo commended Tech Dome Penang and its partners for promoting healthy living, community engagement, and STEM education through this annual fundraising event.
“Glo-Walk is more than just a walk. It is a community movement that encourages healthy lifestyles while supporting STEM education for future generations. We invite everyone to join us and be part of this meaningful cause,” Jagdeep said.
Now in its 11th edition, Glo-Walk has become one of Penang’s signature community events, bringing together families, students, corporate partners and members of the public in support of healthy living, community engagement and science education.
This year’s event aims to attract 5,000 participants and raise RM200,000 to support Tech Dome Penang’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education initiatives and community outreach programmes.
Participants will enjoy a 3km Fun Walk along the scenic waterfront, complemented by a wide range of family-friendly activities. Event activities will begin at 5pm, with the official flag-off scheduled at 7.45pm and festivities continuing until 10pm.
