Harmonious relationships key to well-being of nation

A HARMONIOUS tie between one another is crucial in times like this where racial issues are ‘stirred up’ to bring dispute among the people, expresses Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng.

“Your presence here today reflects the spirit of togetherness which exists among the multiracial community, and it is important for us to shun all those ‘provoking’ voices and continue living in brotherly love,” said Ng at the buka puasa event held at Kampung Melayu on May 25.

“Instead of spreading news that would create racial tension, ways to rectify problems faced by the Pakaran Harapan government should be discussed. That should be the focus of our people (Malaysians)

“Likewise, there are challenges faced during the Ramadan month which all of you are undergoing. It needs great courage and patience to be victorious, like how the religious obligations of fasting are done with much devotion and in perfection.”

Ng also expressed his gratitude to the Kampung Melayu Village Community Management Council (Kampung Melayu MPKK) for bringing the problems faced by the local communities to his attention.

“Through this good cooperation, the relationship between me as the Air Itam representative and the residents in this constituency has been made stronger. Furthermore, the allocations from the state government for the mosques in Air Itam (religious houses of worship) were channelled efficiently,” added Ng.

At the event, some 220 goodie bags were distributed to the poor and needy as a gesture of bringing goodwill to their homes during this holy month.
