THE effective water capacity at the Teluk Bahang Dam and the Mengkuang Dam is at a healthy level, while the level at Air Itam Dam remains under control.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the effective water capacity at the Air Itam Dam remained at 38.1%.
“The level is under control thanks to the Penang Water Supply Corporation’s (PBAPP) Air Itam Dam Action Plan 2024.”
It was reported that the concept of the action plan was to draw down less water from the dam than the average inflow of raw water into the dam daily.
Chow also highlighted the effective water capacity of both the Teluk Bahang Dam and the Mengkuang Dam, showing levels of 76.2% and 89.7% respectively.
“The effective water capacity at the dams is healthy,” he replied to the media today after attending the Karnival Inspirasi Wanita Hebat at Upper Penang Road.
Regarding the possibility of cloud seeding in Penang, Chow said that the state would continue to monitor the situation as it would be done based on necessity.
