THE Lions Club of Georgetown Perdana has come forward to provide the necessary assistance to the PgCare Alliance today.

The association contributed three units of (five-litre) oxygen concentrators worth RM10,000 to provide health assistance to Covid-19 patients.

The PgCare Alliance is the fruit of the collaboration between the Penang government and the non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

The alliance mainly focuses on four key areas, namely mental health, job, food and financial consultation.

State Welfare and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh, who is also the PgCare Alliance chairman, thanked the association for their valuable assistance during these trying times.

“The oxygen concentrators received today will be loaned out (free of charge) to the Covid-19 patients who face breathing difficulties during the home quarantine,” said Phee during the handover ceremony at Komtar today.

Lions Club of Georgetown Perdana president Beatrice Lam Lai Kyuin said the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected Penang with high daily cases nowadays.

“So, as one of the NGOs in the state, we are always committed to extending a helping hand to the community in whatever way we can during these trying times.

“After all, it is our responsibility indeed to give back to the society,” she added.
