Little India glows with installation of LED decorative lights

WITH the buzz of Deepavali aka The Festival of Lights still in town, the Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) with the support of the state government organised a tradition filled Deepavali Open House at Little India today.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow together with Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng were the guests of honour at the function.

The celebration of the Festival of Lights at Little India was more significant this year as it was lighted with LED decorative lights at the cost of RM550,000 that brought a new glow to the place.

According to Chow, Think City presented its plans to the MICCI on the work to give a new face-lift to the Little India

“With regards to the RM1 million allocation for the upgrading work of the Little India, Think City has tabled 3 options to the MICCI for their consideration of the best options regarding the upgrading work.

“I hope that when the decision is made, the commencement of the upgrading work can take off as soon as possible,” said Chow who is also the Padang Kota assemblyman.

Children from the Ramakrishna Ashram as well as the Cerebral Palsy (Spastic) Children’s Association of Penang were treated to a scrumptious meal at the celebration.
