MALINDO Air chief executive officer, Chandran Rama Murthy and his team today called on Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow for a courtesy visit this afternoon.

Chandran was accompanied by his Government Affairs director Raja Sa’adi Raja Amin and North & Central Malaysia manager, Arasu Soundarajan.

Also present was exco for Tourism Development, Heritage, Arts and Culture Yeoh Soon Hin.

Chandran suggested that in order to boost tourism in Penang, the state government together with Malindo Air should work with the medical sector, hotels and airlines and also to hold road shows in foreign countries to further attract tourists to Penang.

“The Indian market is huge. Together with the state government, we should tap its vast potential,” he added.

He also commented that tourism in Penang could be further enhanced with promotions in the Malindo Air news magazine, which attracted some 500,000 readers monthly.

Meanwhile, Chow in thanking the Malindo Air team for their co-operation, hoped Penang Tourism and Malindo Air can come together soon to strategise their plans to attract more tourists to the city in the future.
