MIA, Chow

A TEAM from the Malaysian Institute of Architects (MIA) Northern Chapter led by its chairman Loh Chiak Eong this morning paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow at Komtar.
Loh, on behalf of his team, expressed the desire of MIA to collaborate with the state government to achieve Vision 2030.

“We are ready to assist in any way possible to support your agenda as outlined in Vision 2030,” Loh told Chow after offering the team’s best wishes to the latter.

In thanking Loh for the offer made, the chief minister said he will get the necessary arrangement made for the MIA team to receive further elaboration and directions with regards to Vision 2030.

Loh also briefed Chow on the principles of Smart City Technology by referring to Batu Kawan as the most suitable location for the start-up.

He also mentioned the wide application of the Apps by Kuala Lumpur-based Green Economy Working Group which is effective to ease transportation and traffic problems in the capital city.

“I hope Penang could also have a ‘Master Apps’ system in place, which is linked to the state government operated Apps.
“With this taken care of, problems like traffic congestion during peak hours could be avoided,” Loh said.

Meanwhile, Chow also explained to Loh the 17 Sustainable Development Goals developed during the United Nations Sustainable Summit in 2015, as typical examples to spur partnerships engagement in support of sustainable development.
