TO ensure students from low-income families in Air Itam are not left behind in this digital era, they were provided with laptops recently.

Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng said a total of 15 individuals were selected for the laptop giveaway programme.

“I would like to thank the sponsor, Belleview Group managing director Datuk Sonny Ho for making the dream come true for the students to own a laptop,” Ng said during the laptop presentation ceremony at All Seasons Place in Air Itam recently.

The ceremony was concurrently held with the ‘Program Ramah Mesra Bersama Komuniti Air Itam,’ which had the wife of Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, Madam Tan Lean Kee, as its guest of honour.

The programme was jointly organised by the Air Itam service centre and Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang (PWMPP).

It was also supported by Air Itam Women and Family Development Committee (JPWK) and Air Itam Youth Penang Youth Committee (JBPP).

“I would like to thank our co-organiser PWMPP for making this programme a success.

“It is hoped that more programmes such as this can be held in the future.

“Through this, we can get closer to the Air Itam community as well as strengthen our bonds with them,” added Ng.

Meanwhile, Tan, who is also PWMPP president, encouraged the youngsters who were present to keep building their character and mental health.
