Penang FC invites Bangladesh and Nepal club teams for TYT Cup tourney

THE Penang Football Club (Penang FC) Sdn Bhd will be holding its inaugural TYT Cup football championship involving three teams to celebrate the recent 73rd birthday of Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak.

 

State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said besides Penang FC as the host team, the other two teams are Muktijoddha Sangsad KC from Bangladesh and New Road Team from Nepal.

 

Muktijoddha Sangsad is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League and New Road Team in the A-Division Martyr’s Memorial League in Nepal.

 

He said the tournament would be held at the City Stadium from June 28 to July 2. The format of the competition will be announced at a later date.

 

Soon says the invited teams from Bangladesh and Nepal can surprise fans with their quality of football. With him are Dr Ahmad Jailani (left) and Dr Mohamad Farazi (right).

 

“You will be surprised by the high standard of football from the two invited teams. Muktijoddha Sansad has the services of three Japanese players,” said Soon, who also welcomes more sponsors for the event.

 

He added that the champion team would receive RM10,000 and the second-placed team RM5,000.

 

For fans, the ticket prices for the different zones are Zone A (RM40), Zone B (RM10), Zone C (RM20) and Zone D (RM10). Children need to pay half the price.
