TRAVELLERS are invited to explore a world of holiday opportunities at the Penang Malaysia International Travel Mart (MITM) Travel Fair 2026, which is taking place today and tomorrow (July 18 and 19) at Setia SPICE Arena in Bayan Lepas.
Officially opening the two-day travel fair today, Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai said the Penang MITM Travel Fair has long been recognised as one of northern Malaysia’s premier consumer travel events.

“It provides an excellent platform for travel agencies, airlines, tourism boards, hotels, cruise operators, and other tourism stakeholders to showcase their latest travel products, packages, and exclusive promotions.
“The Penang edition continues to play a significant role in connecting tourism businesses with travellers across the northern region of Malaysia,” Wong said.
Also present at the opening ceremony were Penang Global Tourism (PGT) chief executive officer Ooi Chok Yan, MITM Travel Fair 2026 organising chairman Andy Chuah, and Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA) deputy president Cynthia Tan.
Wong said the travel fair comes at a crucial time as Malaysia builds momentum for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, with tourism promotion efforts now extending into 2027.
“Events such as the MITM Travel Fair are more important than ever. They not only stimulate travel demand but also strengthen partnerships within the tourism industry, enhance destination awareness, and encourage both domestic and outbound travel.
“I would also like to congratulate the MCTA Penang Chapter for its unwavering commitment to organising quality travel fairs across the country.
“Your continuous efforts have created valuable business opportunities for industry players while offering consumers attractive travel packages and exclusive promotions,” he said.
Wong also welcomed the participation of national tourism organisations, airlines, hotels, cruise companies, and travel partners from around the world.
“Your presence reflects the confidence and strong support for the Malaysian travel market while reinforcing Penang’s position as one of the country’s key tourism gateways,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chuah said this year’s Penang MITM Travel Fair features more than 200 exhibition booths, making it one of the largest travel fairs in northern Malaysia.

“This is one of the biggest travel fairs in the northern region. Besides promoting outbound travel, we are also placing strong emphasis on inbound tourism to attract more visitors to Malaysia,” he said.
The two-day event offers visitors a wide selection of travel packages, airline promotions, accommodation deals, cruise holidays, and destination offerings from local and international tourism players, making it a one-stop destination for holiday planning.
