Penang Tzu-Chi continues to support frontliners, fight against Covid-19

THE Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia (Penang) continues to support medical frontliners and care providers in the fight against Covid-19.

 

On Aug 10, Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia (Penang) contributed 58,000 N95 facemasks and 120,000 nitrile gloves of various sizes to 10 medical institutions, homes, and healthcare service providers.

 

Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia (Penang) commissioner Datuk Khoo Boo Leong said the fight against Covid-19 is not over.

“The fight against Covid-19 is still ongoing and we want to continue supporting our frontliners and care providers.

 

“This is our way of showing appreciation to them for their sacrifices. They are playing an important role in society.

 

“We hope that more people in the community can work together and help each other,” he said when contacted today.

The organisations which benefitted from the contribution were Penang Adventist Hospital, Mount Miriam Hospital, Lam Wah Ee Hospital, Kek Lok Si Charitable Hospital, Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion, Penang Ci Ai Old Folks Home, Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged, Penang Hospice Society, Sungai Ara Community Ambulance, and George Town Community Emergency Response Team.
