THE Penang International Airport and the Penang Port will earn much of the limelight and conversation during the 2nd Penang International Business and Investment Summit (PIBIS) next month.

Not-for-profit organisation International Strategy Institute (ISI) executive director Fazil Irwan Som said the focus of this year’s summit would be on the logistics sector and the state’s major economic contributors.

“The Penang Port and the Penang International Airport are two major contributors to the state’s economy.

“There will be conversations on how they help to boost the tourism sector and the regional cargo links; connecting Penang to a bigger market share and exploring new business opportunities.

“Participants will be able network and explore business opportunities besides sharing innovative ideas and gather best practices to help the state move forward,” he said during a courtesy call on Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow at his office in Komtar today.

The first PIBIS was held in February last year.

ISI founder and chairman Cheah Chyuan Yong said the organisation had decided to hold the second PIBIS this year on March 25 due to the great response last year.

“We want to invite you to the summit, and we hope that you could also present a keynote address during the event,” he said.

Also present were the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Penang branch chairman Datuk Dr Ooi Eng Hock and committee member SN Lee.
