THE Teluk Indah 2 Joint Management Body (JMB) has received financial assistance from the state government to pay electricity deposit for Block E1 and Block E2 of the Teluk Indah Flat in Prai.
Deputy Chief Minister II (DCM II) Prof P. Ramasamy handed over two cheques for RM19,013.00 each to U. Ananda Rani, the head of retail division (Penang) Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
The cheques were contributed by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow as well as Ramasamy himself.
“I would like to thank our chief minister for the contribution from his office. It will be used to pay the electricity deposit for Block E1.
“Meanwhile, my contribution, which is from the DCM II’s special allocation, will be used to pay Block E2’s electricity deposit,” Ramasamy said during the handover ceremony held at the State Assembly building yesterday.
Ramasamy said initially the Teluk Indah Flat was managed by the Syarikat Tanjung Gemurah, which had already stopped it services of managing blocks E1 and E2.
“Later, the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) Commissioner of Building allowed the Teluk Indah 2 JMB to manage these two blocks.
“The MBSP Commissioner of Building also gave permission to the Teluk Indah 2 JMB to open new electricity account for the respective blocks.
“Following that, the Teluk Indah 2 JMB appealed to me for the financial assistance to pay the electricity deposit for its new electricity accounts,” said Ramasamy, who is also the Perai assemblyman.
Teluk Indah 2 JMB chairman S. Anparasan, who was also present, thanked the state government for its timely help.
