THE state government remains committed to bolstering the advancement of the manufacturing industry, says state Human Capital Development, Science and Technology Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo.
Jagdeep, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister II, said this when he visited Agilent Technologies in Bayan Lepas recently.
“Agilent Technologies, a prominent high-tech site in Penang, is aggressively moving forward with its initiatives and we hope for synergies between Agilent and other entities in the med-tech field.
“With Penang known as a medical hub, we hope that the med-tech manufacturing industry will contribute to its (Penang) growth in becoming a bigger medical hub in the country,” Jagdeep said during a press conference after touring the factory on Feb 2.
Jagdeep also added that there is a demand for high-tech manufacturing industry both locally and internationally.
Present to brief Jagdeep about its operations and show him its facilities were Agilent Technologies Malaysia general manager Chai Meng Fee and several top management staff members.
