Take part in our charity food carnival, urges St Nicholas’ Home

ST. Nicholas’ Home Penang will be holding its Food Carnival 2022 on Sept 24 at its premises from 9am to 2pm.

The home’s general manager Carmen Chew said the food carnival has always been one of the key components of their annual fundraising campaign.

Chew says the proceeds from the sales at the carnival will go towards sustaining the home’s programmes to serve the blind better.

“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and economic uncertainties, donations to the home have dwindled.

“We are further impacted by the rising cost of living and prices, making our mission to serve the blind and visually impaired increasingly onerous.

“Despite being severely understaffed and underfunded, we continue to strive for ways to keep going.

“Therefore, we feel very blessed to finally be able to organise our food carnival again after years of inactivity due to the pandemic.

“This is a charity event and all proceeds from sales at the carnival will go towards sustaining our programmes to serve the blind better.

“Every bit of help counts. We appeal to the public to take part by buying our coupons,” Chew said.
