Time for SPM school leavers to make right choice

MAKING the right choice after finishing Form Five studies or Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations is very important as it can decide a student’s career path.

Under such circumstances, many school leavers will find their best options to pursue matriculation studies or enrol in training institutes, colleges or universities.

With the SPM results to be released soon and to guide the students from dropping out, Bagan Dalam assemblyman M. Satees’ office is collaborating with seven training institutes under the Ministry of Human Resources’ Manpower Department (ILJTM) from the northern region, to hold a programme, entitled ‘ILP Pilihan Bijak’.

It will be held at JKKK hall, Jalan Assumption, Butterworth on Feb 24 rom 9am to 4pm.

“All seven training institutes will participate in the programme and will provide exposure on courses offered as well as advice on career paths to those who choose to study at the ILP’s.

“The institutes taking part are the Japanese-Malaysian Technical Institute, ADTEC Kulim, ADTEC Taiping, ILP Kepala Batas, ILP Nibong Tebal, ILP Perai and ILP Kangar.

“They offer tailored programmes for certificate courses on various industrial skills,” Satees told a press conference today at his service centre.

It is understood that each training institute has expertise in a particular field, and SPM leavers are able to choose the training institute according to their respective interests.

The students who have acquired the skills and experience after undergoing the course have bright employment opportunities.

SPM leavers in Penang are urged to take the opportunity to check out the training institutes.
