ARE you ready to take on the tallest skyscraper in Penang?
The registration for the Penang TOP International Tower Run 2019 is open and has drawn over 300 participants to date.
State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said the organisers targeted 1,500 participants.
“We are having talks with the Towerrunning World Association (TWA). It will be great for TWA to endorse the run.
“It will help to attract professional tower runners to take part in the competition,” he told a press conference today.
The run is jointly organised by the state government and The TOP Penang.
Soon welcomed sports enthusiasts to participate and explore Komtar.
He said the flag off would be done in stages on the day of the event to prevent participants from overcrowding the Komtar tower.
According to the registration website, each participant is entitled to an event T-shirt, a finisher medal, a bib, a timing chip, personal accident insurance, lucky draw and refreshment.
Participants also have the option to purchase a finisher T-shirt.
Cash prizes await the Top Five Open Category winners.
The tower run is scheduled to be held on Sept 15 at The TOP Penang. Registration closes at 11.59pm on Sept 10.
