A LOGISTICS company and an educational services centre have stepped forward to donate two fully equipped ambulances for the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Penang to carry out its rescue and humantarian work.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, in his speech, commended AUG Student Services and See Hup Consolidated Bhd, for their generosity besides thanking MRCS Penang for their humanitarian services.

“MRCS Penang trains its members in first aid and pre-hospital care so that they are able to provide the community with emergency and disaster relief support.

“The state government is grateful for the services provided by MRCS Penang, and we support the society’s mission,” Chow said in his speech at the MRCS Penang fundraising dinner at St Giles Wembley Hotel today.

MRCS Penang chairman Datuk BJ Yeang said the society members are always ready to serve the community, especially during times of disaster.

The MRCS ambulance service operates from three centres – in Batu Maung, Butterworth and Permatang Tinggi.

Also present were state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee and MRCS deputy chairman Datuk Lim Tiong Chin.
