THE swearing-in ceremony for all the 40 state assemblymen in Penang is set to take place on Aug 29, pending the consent of Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said.
He was asked about the date for the swearing-in ceremony by reporters after attending the opening ceremony of the Penang Stem Showcase 2023 second edition at Han Chiang High School in Jelutong today.
“Once consented, the swearing-in ceremony will take place at the State Assembly Building in Light Street on Aug 29,” Chow told during a press conference earlier.
On another matter, when asked about the ‘Konsert Viral Lagu-Lagu Tik Tok Malaysia Indonesia 2023’, which was scheduled to take place on Sept 30, Chow said the organisers have agreed to relocate the venue from Dewan Millenium in Kepala Batas to Batu Kawan, with the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) in charge.
It was recently reported in an English Daily that Deputy Chief Minister I Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid has instructed MBSP to withdraw its approval, citing religious sensitivities.
