A TOTAL of 522 schools are eligible for a nominal land tax rate of RM50 per lot, says Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
Speaking after visiting the Northeast District payment counter at Komtar today, Chow said the respective schools may check their tax bills via the PgLand portal and make payment either online or at counters statewide.
Accompanying him were Penang Director of Lands and Mines Datuk Dr Faizal Kamarudin and Northeast District Officer Isma Suhaimi Shariff.

“Previously, the definition of a nominal rate ranged from RM1 to RM10 and so on. However, with this latest decision, it has been standardised at RM50,” he said.
He expressed hope that all school administrators would take note of the matter and take the necessary action to check their bills and proceed with payment either online or at the district office counters.

“For those who have made payments prior to this announcement, they may visit the counter to make the necessary adjustments and obtain a refund. The amount will either be refunded or credited to the respective land account,” he added.
