A fruitful visit to PKT Logistics Group facility

PENANG Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Industry Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain has been constantly staying up to date with the latest industry developments in the state.

 

He visited The 12 Waves warehouse in Batu Kawan today to understand the organisation structure and business operations.

The 12 Waves warehouse is owned by a logistic company, PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd.

 

It is considered to be the largest warehouse in the country that boasts of 72 acres and deemed as a next-generation logistics hub.

 

Abdul Halim was welcomed by the group’s chief executive and managing director Datuk Michael Tio upon arrival and was briefed by him on the company’s business operations, policies and strategies.

 

He was also taken on a tour of the facility to understand the warehouse’s operations as well as view the equipment and machinery.

 

More than 300 employees worked at the warehouse facility.

 

Later on, Abdul Halim was also taken on a tour around the Ship Campus which is located nearby the warehouse.

It is the first ever campus in Penang to be located inside an industrial park and home to Peninsula College, the education arm of PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd.

 

It can accommodate up to 4,000 students and 1,000 employees.

 

At the end of the visit, Abdul Halim thanked Tio for his warm hospitality.

 

Also present was PKT Logistics (Penang branch operations) director Jasmon Lim.
