A night of merriment for PWDC and other agencies

A THANKSGIVING dinner was held last night to appreciate the contributions of the Penang Women Development Corporation (PWDC) and other agencies.

The attendees were treated to a delicious dinner at the Penang Harmony Centre which was decorated with Chinese New Year items.

State Social Development and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Chong Eng, who has been fervently advocating and educating women on matters concerning women empowerment, was also present.

“This event is to value the hard work from everyone who has been assisting us throughout last year.

“The Penang government has always been committed to looking into women’s issues as we strive to serve the community in a better manner.

“Last year, we had also launched various programmes to prepare women in many fields.

“Our desire is to create a harmonious community living and families free from domestic violence to promote a safer environment,” he said.

During the event, various lucky draw prizes were also up for grabs.
