A COUPLE, whose house was damaged by a fallen durian tree on Saturday in Lorong Cantik 2 in Ayer Itam, received financial aid totalling RM3,000 to assist with repairs.
As it happened in his constituency, Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng donated RM2,000, while the remaining RM1,000 came from the Penang TYT Disaster Fund.
“The aid may not seem much, but I hope that this assistance can help them repair the part of the house that was destroyed by the fallen tree on Saturday,” he told reporters after presenting the financial aid to Teh Joo Ee, 55, at the latter’s residence this afternoon.
Northeast District head Nur Afnan Zakaria presented the donation to Teh from the Penang TYT Disaster Fund.
Teh, in return, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Lim and Nur Afnan for the much-needed support.
