Aid for the needy

THE Penang government has been constantly providing aid to the needy, especially during the movement control order (MCO) period.

 

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the state was thankful to the members of the Village Community Management Council (MPKK), state assemblymen and MPs for their help.

 

“They have been distributing provisions and provide help to those in need,” he said in his speech during the ‘Konvoi Ramadan’ at Kampung Permatang Tengah to distribute food supplies to the recipients today.

 

Also present were state Health, Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry and Rural Development Committee Chairman Dr Norlela Ariffin, Permatang Pasir assemblyman Muhammad Faiz Fadzil, Kebun Bunga assemblyman Jason Ong, Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) Datuk Rozali Mohamud.

 

Chow advised the rakyat to continue practise social distancing, wear face masks and frequently wash hands.

 

Later, Chow and his team visited the Seberang Jaya market to observe how the standard operating procedure (SOP) was complied.

 

Also present was Seberang Jaya assemblyman Dr Afif Bahardin.
