Air Itam rep, NRD staff lend seniors a helping hand

THE National Registration Department (NRD) Penang branch has organised 44 outreach programmes this year through its Kembara mobile services.

Their focus is on groups like senior citizens, the physically challenged, bedridden patients and mental patients.

The NRD has received and processed 228 MyKad applications from January to September this year.

One of its stops was at the Little Sisters of the Poor located along Lorong Batu Lanchang in Air Itam on Sept 27. Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng was also present to help the seniors with the application procedures.

Besides helping the seniors, the Penang NRD staff held several social activities such as singing and performing dances for the inmates of the home.

Any individual with physical difficulty in going to the NRD office to replace their MyKad can contact the NRD mobile services at 04-2265161 for assistance.
